Saving J are an energetic Pop/Rock band from Rep of. Ireland comprising Sean Redmond – Lead Vocal+Guitar, Paul Hindle – Drums+Vocals, Liam Redmond – Lead Guitar and Eamon McEvoy – Bass Guitar.
Formed in Mid 2006 in KIlkenny city through an uncanny set up coincidences, Saving J soon began playing across Ireland, releasing a host of Singles, leading to early career interest from the likes of Ryan Tubridy from RTE Radio1 and now presenter of The Late Late Show and with strong support from Hotpress and Music TV.
Saving J’s Debut Single “Bus Stop” was Playlisted on National RTE Radio1, and was the Indie Hit of the summer on Regional Radio, reaching No.1 on Beat 102 103’s Fresh 30.
The bands third single “Kick Off” and fourth single “Indication Street” also received large volumes of radio play with this time gaining them play on Music TV, with Stations such as Channel 6, and Bubble Hits putting the videos on rotation in both the UK and Ireland.
The band recorded their debut album called “This City Street” in 2009 and a signed a nationwide distribution deal with Entertainment Sales & Distribution. The album gained national acclaim which spurred the band to play their first Showcase gigs in London in November 2009. The band returned to the UK in March 2010 for a tour that took them from Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham to London for a series of gigs. There is no doubt that they have left their mark on the UK circuit with the single “Indication Street” as their track and video for the single continuing to receive airplay and video rotation on Music TV stations across the UK and Ireland.
In April 2010 the band recorded a live session for RTE 1 show “Arena” which marked the bands second visit to the infamous Studio 8 RTE radio centre having been invited to record for 2FM studio sessions the previous year.
Following a string of successful radio hits and videos such as “Bus Stop”, “ABC”, “Indication Street” and “Kick Off” and “Everybody”, the band released the 2nd single from the album “This City Street” with a track called “Venus”.
“Venus” was recently chosen for complimentary treatment by the New York Tisch School of Arts in conjunction with Hot Press for a no holds barred video shoot, thus joining their predecessors MGMT, The Frames, The Coronas, The Blizzards, Republic of Loose, Julie Feeney and Duke Special all of whom have benefited from the Tisch videos in the past.
The band is currently writing new material and have embarked on an Irish Summer festival and touring circuit. The band are no strangers to the big stage having toured with the likes of UK’s The Magic Numbers, The View, Paul Weller, Tom Baxter and Irelands The Coronas, Fight Like Apes and The Blizzards over the past couple of years.
